PopCult Anime Con is delighted to announce East Coast convention royalty, Comiku Studio, as Local Legends and featured panelists for PCAC 2022! Better known as The Comiku Girls, Akiko Meigetsu and Li Izumi are celebrating 20 years of educating, entertaining and sharing their artistic skills with the anime convention community.
Famous for their Japanese Tea Ceremony panel, the Girls are experts in Eastern arts and culture. Akiko studied brush painting with Chinese Master Cong Yuan, and watercolors with esteemed artist Luna Lee Ray (and y’know has a Ph.D. in Biology on the side!!! 👀) Li has a BA in East Asian Studies and a Masters in Classical Japanese from UMass Amherst and even lived in Japan for a while.
