Full Statement Regarding PopCult Anime Con 2021 & Covid-19
(summary below)

ICYMI PopCult’s con hotel, the Sheraton Framingham went up for auction this past November citing lost business due to Covid-19. We were heartbroken at the news and send our condolences to all the former staff at the Sheraton Framingham. You were so wonderful to us and we adored your venue – you will be dearly missed!
Taking into consideration the loss of the Sheraton and how the pandemic is still affecting the entertainment industries, a decision was made for PopCult Anime Con to remain postponed until 2022. A staff committee was formed and will use this extra time to search for a new location for our next event.
Don’t think you can take your eyes off us though! Our staff is busy planning more virtual events, social opportunities and prize-winning contests to drop throughout the year and help keep that PopCult community spirit flowing! We’ll be having so much fun, 2022 will be here before you know it~ Twitter / Instagram / Facebook / Facebook Social
The Sheraton Framingham and other vendors we’ve worked with in the past are shutting down or raising prices to survive. After two years in lockdown we want to put on the very best show for you, but we’re staring down a lot of unpredictable extra expenses with no pre-registration income to fall back on. So we’re humbly fundraising, as small donations now could add up to an incredible event down the line.
Can’t donate? That’s okay – share! Tell your friends about us, invite them to follow us on social media. It’s not a beach party (virtual or otherwise) without people to dance with! From Summer, Wacky and everyone at PopCult Anime Con – thanks for sticking with us through these crazy times and supporting small, local cons!
Happy New Year 2021
Happy New Year, PopCult fam! 🍻 Here’s to a healthy and innovative 2021~
We’d like to take a moment to reiterate that there is no scheduled date for PopCult Anime Con 2021 at this time. If that changes, our return and all its details will be posted across ALL our social media platforms and this website so if you follow us in any capacity it will be hard to miss us! Registration is closed* until further notice, but pre-registered attendees (including artists and vendors) will be notified via email as soon as new dates** are announced.
In the meantime, we’ve decided to branch out a bit just like pop culture changes and adapts to the times. For 2021, PopCult Anime Con will be amping up our social media outreach with weekly topic discussions in our Facebook Social group, monthly cosplay meetups on Discord, community promos and mascot adventures with Wacky and the Gang on Instagram, and pop-media industry news via Twitter. Follow us on your favorite socials for fun, news, community and more!
We are really looking forward to the time we can do all this with you in person again! Until then……
six feet apart please! Keep wearing those masks and washing your hands like mermaids depend on it (because they do!) 🌊🌊
*Registration is closed but donations are always open! Help make our next con the best it can be~
**New dates for PCAC may not necessarily occur within the 2021 calendar year.
Thank you for bearing with us during these difficult times.

Virtual Exhibitor Alley: Now Open!
Who misses shopping?? (The webmaster flails about shouting, “Me! Me!”)
All my fellow shopaholics out there, come and join me for a stroll through the newly opened PopCult Anime Con virtual Exhibitor Alley! You don’t even need to wear a mask. Or pants!
Local artists and small businesses like those in our Exhibitor Alley have been particularly injured by the Covid-19 crisis, as they rely on large events and fairs like PCAC to meet fans and make sales. And patroning the arts can often fall to the wayside when society at large is suffering. Treating yourself at a featured shop during our online event not only continues to patron the arts during these hard times, it keeps money in our local economies, supports small business and builds strength within our communities.
I encourage everyone to browse our exhibitors’ websites, regardless of your intentions or means for shopping. We had a great lineup of vendors and artists set for this year, with mindblowing talent and highly original products really worth taking a look at. Here’s to finding your next Instagram crush!
