Local Legends 2024

Magical Lee

Magical Lee is a LGBTQ+ nerd from upstate New York and an experienced content creator, competitive cosplayer, contest judge, event host, and panelist. Performing and foam crafting are his forte; his favorite way to perform is with flowing art silks and his most recent completed foam-craft is Halsin from Baldur’s Gate 3. Lee’s cosplay derives from wherever his heart takes him, be it anime, video games, or D&D related media. He enjoys utilizing the power of cosplay to fundraise for charities such as The Trevor Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Visit his table in the PCAC24 Exhibitor Hall to learn more about his fundraising campaigns!
It is Lee’s dearest passion to share the Magic of Cosplay with others and believes that in cosplay everyone is welcome and anyone can be anything they dream to be.

Emperor Kuzco

Once upon a time, the great and powerful Emperor Kuzco went looking for a place to take a relaxing vacation, to share their wealth, dancing skills and general shenanigans with the common folk… Hi, my name is Alexis and I have been coming to PCAC for a few years now solely as Vacation Kuzco – passing out gems and leis, vibing at the dances and hosting a variety of panels. I get a lot of joy going to this con as Kuzco as it has become my most recognizable cosplay out of every other costume I’ve made in the past 15 years. I just want to see people happy and laughing because they are having a good time, regardless of which events or panels they go to. I love this con dearly and look forward to it every August, so please say hi if you see me! I have lots of panels and fun things lined up so stay tuned, and I make no promises not to level this con to make way for my new summer home!

The Nerd’s Magican

Ryan is a New-England based magician and cosplayer. He’s been practicing and performing magic for over 16 years, delighting audiences at many events with a performance heavily influenced by anime, manga, and video games. Known for cosplaying Gen Asagiri from Dr. Stone during performances, his other cosplays include characters from Resident Evil, Star Wars and the Persona series. You may see him on Instagram, Tiktok, or Youtube – but he always tells his fans the best way to experience the show is in person. The Nerd’s Magician has previously performed at Rhode Island Anime Con, Pop Anime Con, Chibicon, ConnectiCon – and soon PopCult Anime Con!

Rolind the Traveler

Rolind the Traveler first appeared at King Richard’s Faire in 2021 and has since sojourned far and oft returned with tales of grand adventures to share! With music of course, as he is a Bard! Actor and entertainer Josue Gonzalez originally created the character of Rolind for a D&D campaign but thanks to vending at King Richard’s and the growth of an unexpected online fanbase, Rolind the Traveler is now a living entity for others to interact with and enjoy! Rolind is a promoter of positivity, love and happiness to all who need it. You can be a part of Rolind’s journey too along with 4500+ fellow voyagers on TikTok!

What Are People Saying About PopCult Anime Con?

One of my Favorite Cons!

December 1, 2024

This con has come such a long way from its early days, it’s so based in community and brining joy and uplifting to its attendees. Every staff member I interact with is always so helpful, the offerings of panels and events during the con is so accessible and fun. It’s basically everything you’d want from a small community con in a growing atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend it more! Give it a try!

PopCult was the convention that made me love conventions!

December 1, 2024

I used to dislike conventions, but PopCult was my first anime convention back in 2022 (I went for a friends birthday), and the kind staff and fun events made me absolutely love conventions instead! The attendees are always so kind, and there’s always something fresh and exciting to do there each year! I plan to come back for many, many years!

Grace

one of my top fav cons!

January 12, 2025

This is the best convention for beginners! I started going in 2022 and will continue every year! The people and staff are always so sweet and like a huge family

Akira

An amazing convention with wonderful staff and friends

December 11, 2024

I personally love these smaller conventions, and with it being my first time at Popcult, it had such a great atmosphere to it. I was lucky enough to be the MC for the masquerade, and getting to work with the stage and tech staff was a great experience. The staff is great to be around, and it’s actually very easy to make friends at the con, and you will probably see them at other cons as well. Go for the entire weekend of a great end of summer convention!
