As Official Artist of PopCult Anime Con, One Lovely Sin has been developing our mascot designs and creating all of the promotional art for PopCult Anime Con since it’s inaugural year in 2016. She has her own annual track of programming at PCAC called the Artists’ Cafe, providing hours of entertaining and informative programming for us. At other conventions, Sin can often be found at the PCAC promotions table filling sand bottles and drawing chibi caricatures for fans! We thank Sin for sharing her incredible talents with us, her hard work and dedication to PopCult Anime, and our years of precious friendship.
Official Mascot: Misa on Wheels
Misa on Wheels is a cosplayer based out of New England. She started cosplaying at conventions about a decade ago and found her passion, as well as her most amazing experiences, through this wonderful community. She got her well-known nickname from a dear friend she met in Artist Alley at her first con: “Misa” being the female lead in the anime Death Note, who was her first and most beloved cosplay, and “on Wheels” being her primary method of travel. Misa was born with a form of Muscular Dystrophy, called Charcot-Marie Tooth disease, or CMT for short. The condition made the nerves in her lower arms and lower legs extremely weak causing her to start using a wheelchair at age 10. Misa started her Facebook page a couple years back as a place to share photos, convention stories, and her thoughts on cosplay. It has since become the stage for her message, “Cosplay is for Everyone.” Misa is honored and proud to be the mascot of PopCult Anime Convention!

And PopCult Anime Con is honored and proud to have Misa as our mascot! We reached out to local legend Misa on Wheels as we were just barely starting to form as a convention; we wanted to create a face character that used a wheelchair to promote inclusion in the community. With her blessing, our secret mermaid mascot Summer was born! We are so grateful to have Misa on our team, her continuing involvement helps make PopCult Anime Con a convention for everyone!
