Thank you to everyone who pre-registered for PopCult Anime Con 2023!
We hope those of you with full-weekend passes will join us on Friday night for your Day Zero bonus programming, which has expanded this year to include 6 panels, 4 game shows, extended hours in 5 special interest rooms and (of course) a 3-hour opening ceremonies dance! Registration opens at 7pm, with programming running from 8pm to midnight.
Our website has been restructured to help you navigate your way around PCAC23.
Please take a quick look up at our new menu! It’s been drastically rearranged with the content all updated to help attendees get around the convention this weekend. On the Registration tab you’ll find hours and info regarding at-con registration. The Events and Programming tabs now drop down to reveal descriptions and scheduled times for Main Events and Panel programming, as well as secondary options for details on our dedicated special interest rooms (like Artists Cafe, Manga Library, Video Games, etc.) and a page that has all of our Isekai-themed programming rounded up in one place! Of course all our Local Legends bios can still be found on our Guests page, and a list of this year’s Vendors and Artists will pop up when you click Exhibitors. The FAQ has even been switched out for a more convention-centric set of questions. The main links, which you will find at the top of most pages, are:
Con Theme / Main Events Info / Panels Info / Video Info / Special Interests
We are still updating areas of the site, and will continue to make changes throughout the weekend if any scheduling changes occur. There will be a printed convention schedule available at the convention, but it will not contain all of the information here on the website (like full descriptions of the events.) This is an effort on our part to both #GoGreen and save a bit of money on printing, so we can use it on other aspects of the convention that better serve you!
We want to thank Operation Hammond, who will be joining us again this year and providing first aid and emergency services to our attendees! They will again be located near Main Events all weekend. Please feel free to say hello, chat with them and learn about their organization if you have a moment during the weekend; their mission is so important and we’re so very lucky to have them with us.
Of course it’s the Local Legends you’re the most excited to see, right? When browsing Event and Panel descriptions, keep an eye out for ☆s! A star in a description title means one of our guests are involved. Whether it’s Carol Pandolph’s Miniature Painting room, panels from HS Cosplay, or Matt Myers’ performing on stage at the Masquerade – follow the ☆s to find this year’s stars!
And follow the signs around the con to find Crown Prince Wacky and help save the Vinyl Island from their evil twin Wavy! There’s been an update to A Journey Into Isekai, and now it’s up to you to help our heroes this weekend. Pay attention to the Scavenger Hunt event tab if you want to play as more information will be available as the con approaches.
That’s It! Our staff is packing up and beginning to make their way to Waltham where we’ll transform the Westin Isekai-style into a crazy world of pool inflatables. We may be difficult to reach for the next 24-48 hours as we are away from our computers and putting final touches on everything. But we’re looking forward to seeing you all on Friday and kicking off our most ambitious PopCult Anime Con yet!
