Panels 2025

Panel Application Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in hosting a panel at PopCult Anime Con 2025!

PCAC is a multi-genre convention, so we welcome panels of all types! Please feel free to apply with a panel/workshop about any popular culture or convention community topic.  Panel submissions will be open from March 22 to July 1, 2025. Submissions received after this date will be accepted on an as-needed basis and may be waitlisted.

Please read our panel guidelines carefully before applying for a panel.

  • The Following Panel Types Will Not Be Accepted:
    • Duplicates of existing staff-run events such as: Idol showcases/performances (please apply to the Idol Festival instead!), karaoke, game shows such as Family Feud, Jeopardy, Match Game, Cosplay Newlyweds, Whose Line Is it Anyway?, The Dating Game, and Lip Sync contest.
    • Any panels which mock or are negative towards other fans (ex. bad fanfiction readings, unsolicited critiques of fan work, etc). PopCult Anime Con believes in providing a positive and supportive fandom environment!
  • Time
    • Panels will be given a block of 60 minutes, with 15 minutes in between panels for set-up/break down.
  • Equipment
    • Our panel rooms are equipped with large televisions and an HDMI cable. You must bring your own laptop/tablet if your panel requires it, and your own adapter if your device does not have an HDMI output.
    • Please save any necessary files for your panel to your device. The hotel WiFi is not consistent and should not be relied upon for panels.
    • Please avoid messy materials such as glitter/confetti, etc in your panel.
  • Age Restricted Panels
    • If your panel contains R-rated language, sexual content, nudity, extreme violence, or obscene material which would be unsuitable for minors, it must be submitted as an 18+ panel.
    • If an “all ages” panel is found to have content which is NOT appropriate for all ages, PopCult Anime Con staff reserves the right to end the panel immediately.
  • Group-Run Panels
    • Groups applying for a panel must choose a panel leader who will act as the main contact. Your panel leader will submit their name & email on the panel application. Your group name(s) as you would like them listed in the program will be entered under “Presentation name” on the application form.
  • Panel Acceptance
    • You will be contacted by staff in regards to your panel’s acceptance by July 15. If you have any questions, please email Kelly at popcultpanels@gmail.com.
  • Registration
    • Panelists must pre-register for the convention if their panel is accepted & confirm they will be able to present. Accepted panelists will be able to register at a discounted rate of $35 with a promo code. If you host 3 or more panels, your badge cost will be reimbursed to you (minus processing fees) after the convention.

What Are People Saying About PopCult Anime Con?

One of my Favorite Cons!

December 1, 2024

This con has come such a long way from its early days, it’s so based in community and brining joy and uplifting to its attendees. Every staff member I interact with is always so helpful, the offerings of panels and events during the con is so accessible and fun. It’s basically everything you’d want from a small community con in a growing atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend it more! Give it a try!

PopCult was the convention that made me love conventions!

December 1, 2024

I used to dislike conventions, but PopCult was my first anime convention back in 2022 (I went for a friends birthday), and the kind staff and fun events made me absolutely love conventions instead! The attendees are always so kind, and there’s always something fresh and exciting to do there each year! I plan to come back for many, many years!

Grace

one of my top fav cons!

January 12, 2025

This is the best convention for beginners! I started going in 2022 and will continue every year! The people and staff are always so sweet and like a huge family

Akira

An amazing convention with wonderful staff and friends

December 11, 2024

I personally love these smaller conventions, and with it being my first time at Popcult, it had such a great atmosphere to it. I was lucky enough to be the MC for the masquerade, and getting to work with the stage and tech staff was a great experience. The staff is great to be around, and it’s actually very easy to make friends at the con, and you will probably see them at other cons as well. Go for the entire weekend of a great end of summer convention!
